Not linked by any particular style, period or location, the places reveal a life-long tale of the Italian panorama of high-level interior design, told by Andrea's strong a characteristic visual language: you will not find chapters, sections or any other kind of arrangement except for the one directed by the Author's narrative.
The design aimed to create a seamless visual tale that harmonically had to present pictures of interiors so different from each other, while still talking to each other thanks to Vierucci strong narrative.
The goal was to let the pictures talk of the intimate relationship between the groups of shots of every interior, balancing colors, lights, and perspective in a rhythmic, cohesive narration.
A bodonian binding allows to fully open the book to enjoy perfectly the images. The first part, set on grey paper, is printed with black and silver inks — this allowed to differentiate it from the photographic tale. The cover, set in a striking purple, has the title and author’s name embossed on the front: a hermetic solution that elegantly hides a collection of sumptuous interiors pictures.
The book is set in Neue Haas Grotesk by Monotype, while the headings are in Beatrice Display medium by Sharp Type. Printed by the great team of Bandecchi & Vivaldi, the catalog is divided into two sections. The first, which introduces to the photographic tale with three essays, is printed 2/2 with black and silver inks on Fedrigoni Sirio Perla 140 g/m2; the second part lets us dive in an uninterrupted journey throughout 80 pages printed 4/4 on a marvelous Fedrigoni Tatami White 135 g/m2.
The layout is based on 10 columns and just one horizontal guide which sets the page number and captions' standard position: the pictures are never forced to change their ratio under a rigid grid or fixed spaces. Every image is positioned, sized and aligned to talk harmoniously with its fellows.
